What is it about the sun that brings out the nostalgia?! Our weekends are actually during the week since Josh has two nights off in a row, so, I thought it'd be fun to set up a little date night in and plan a little movie night. But first, the snacks.

You can't have a movie without snacks! It just doesn't work! I'll never forget the first time I went to the theater with some friends and no one wanted to get so much as a popcorn or drink. Insert sad face. I don't know if it comes from growing up with good cooking or what, but I just think of tasty food and snacks as synonymous with a lot of my favorite memories.

Just for fun, I created a little snack bar to put together our own eats for the movie.

 

The lineup:  Skittles®, hard Lifesavers®, Peanut M & Ms®,  Snickers® Ice Cream Bars, M & Ms® Ice Cream Cookies, cherries, apples & watermelon.

We're total kids at heart, so, instead of just throwing stuff on a plate to devour seconds later, we upped the snack game with a fun little silly face creation. Sometimes the best memories are from just putting yourself out there and having fun.

Almost too cute to eat! Almost ;-)

How to: 

1: get your favorite fruits (watermelon works really well but feel free to use what you have on hand!)

2: pick up some funshine to add some extra sweetness in. We love Skittles here!

3: arrange in a silly face 

3: dig in!

My very first job was at a movie theater. We had ice cream sandwiches, and these bring back so many memories! But, I have to admit- these are just way better! Something about the colors that brings out the kid in me, or the perfect vanilla flavor- movie night win in my book!
